Water Fun and Father's Day...

We have been having a lot of fun this summer enjoying the water nearby. We all like spending time on the river and enjoying our new kayaks. Daddy actually is loving the fishing lately and goes almost 4-5 times a week...exhausting! Father's Day weekend was spent either in the river or on the lake. We made lots of sweet memories with our family and our friends, as well!

I LOVE the picture below of both Daddy and Mr. Corey helping their little angels across the river. The perfect father day snapshot!

We decided that it did not seem real safe riding in the boat while Daddy drives through all the jet ski drivers who scare me and Anna Grace to death. However, we found a quiet cove and enjoyed the afternoon. We were grateful for the gorgeous boat that we borrowed from friends!

And for one of my favorite recent phone pics...

Guess who is looking more and more like their mommy?

(just had to compare the two pics of me when I was little and Adelynn's recent pigtail day at the pool.)

Every Litte Girls Dream...

What young girl does not dream of gliding around on top of such a beautiful animal? Floating through the fields free of worry. This week Anna Grace got to escape her reality and feel like she was starring in her favorite movie (Moondance Alexander). She has been in love with that movie since last summer and this year I discovered a precious camp taught by a very wonderful lady and her daughters that would help Anna Grace experience a tad bit of it for herself.

Anna Grace, I had as much fun as you this week, I think. It made my week to hear you so overly excited and craving more of this sweet camp experience. Because it is so different than your daily life, you felt like you were experiencing a "true" summer camp adventure. You and some of your sweet friends, old and new, had a blast learning so much about riding, caring for and umderstanding the nature of horses. You asked me today, "Mom, how long until next summer when I can go back to horse camp again?" Now what? Do we make her wait until next year? She was so poised, calm and content riding and Mrs. Henry was very impressed with how well the horses responded to her and how she composed herself riding through the pasture alone. She even tried a small jump! I'm thinking we may need to ship her off to stay with Mr. Randy and Mrs. Sally if she takes up horse riding as a hobby. That's a little out of my league...Granddaddy used to rope and I did a few lead line competitions but that is a totally different style of horseback riding and one that she doesnt' exactly care for. She is hooked on the jumping and not so "Country" style of riding! I'm going to try not to take offense to that comment, sweet AG!

Sweet Baby A was a little upset that she was not big enough to ride! She said, "I pout!" And that she did! Can't you tell?

The Joys of Summer...

I just love the freedom of Summer! We have been having a lot of fun so far. We have purchased kayaks for our family and rafted the river by our house more than a few times. You all love it and I am impressed with how well Adelynn sits in my boat and enjoys every second of it. VBS this year was wonderful as always and we finished it up with a weekend at Uncle Matt Matt's for Cybil's birthday celebrating. It's like going on vacation when we visit them because they live in such an exciting place. The water park is always high up on our summer to do list! They moved into a super cool new house beside some friends who keep a few horses right in their backyard. Giving them water this weekend was another fun memory. Especially because AG starts Horse Camp this week and is already having the time of her life. Quote..."How long until I go to bed and wake up again and get to go back to camp?" I think this is the most favorite thing you have done in a long time. You look so happy and free sitting up so pretty on top of your assigned horse named Fancy. Although this summer holds lots more exciting adventures, thanks sweet girls for starting it out with such cool memories!

Sweet Cousins

Okay, so I just had to share the highlight of my summer so far, as well. Anna Grace, you have always been the early riser in our family. This summer you get up sometimes and Mommy doesn't even hear you. One of the first few days of summer after our beach trip, Mommy must have been super tired because you got up, fed Riley, made up your bed, got dressed and fixed our breakfast each with a special little note of love. I never heard you at all until you came and woke me up with a little kiss and told me to come eat. It was so sweet to see you had prepared something for me and your sisters. The notes were adorable and I love how you gave each of us our favorite early morning treats. You are an angel and such a helper for Mommy!
