The day I met your daddy I remember calling mimi that evening and all I kept saying was "Mom, you have to see this guys blue eyes!" I was amazed at how blue they shined at the baseball game where we first met. I was just as amazed the day you were born and you looked up at me with those same teal blue eyes. I could never have imagined that I would spend the best nine years of my life loving on such a beautiful blue eyed baby who looked so much like her daddy but had the sweet spirit of angel.
You have always been such an "old soul" as I like to describe you. You love all things "vintage" and besides crafting, one of your favorite things to do is go to antique stores and hunt for old doilies or similar handmade goodies. I just finished sewing up a jean jacket you envisioned made from your great great great grandmother's hand embroidered designs and doilies we found at mimi's one time. You wore it tonight for the first time and it is SO perfect for you! I used to tell you about how I had a young girl play my Granny's favorite song, Amazing Grace, in my wedding on a violin. You grabbed hold of this story and made it a dream. Now, you float around the house playing this song, lots of others and my favorite right now are the Christmas songs you play for me with while I work! You are still very shy around adults but you have impressed me tons this year with how much you are coming out of your shell. However, with your friends, you have the most contagious giggle and when you are enjoying yourself, it surely shows.
She are serious most of the time and have something on your mind that you plan to create or accomplish. You have worked extremely hard and gotten one of the first goals accomplished for your ballet career this year, as well. Since the first time we saw the Nativity, you told me you were going to be one of the little angels that helped when Jesus was born. This year, my sweet girl, you reached another dream of yours. I just love watching you dance. You shine so brightly on stage. No one could ever tell your true shy personality when that spotlight shines on you. This year, I couldn't even play music while trying to decorate the tree because you couldn't stop choreographing ballet routines to each of the carols that came on. I thought for sure you would leap into the tree.
I enjoyed your request for some individual shots this year after our family Christmas pictures. I am sorry we didn't get to take any of the ballet ones you had planned because the sun set too quickly. But we will do those next week, promise! For now, mommy was very happy with capturing this precious pictures of you on my camera. I do have an issue with how grown up you look.
