Choosing Thankfulness...

I have always loved Thanksgiving!  When asked favorite holiday~my answer is by far Thanksgiving.  I think I adore it over Christmas because all the gift giving and rushing around distracts from the family focus.  Also, while sitting around the table with all the cousins as we share funny stories of our lives since we have seen each other last, I know that I only have a few more weeks to look forward to it again when we gather at Christmas.  A few things that stood out as especially wonderful to me this year are...

1.  my daddy's prayer~his voice as he prays is something I cherish
2. my momma pouring out her love in the kitchen
3. little voices and feet fluttering throughout the house
4.  the vivid memories of Thanksgivings of past
5.  the birthday of my first precious daughter

I know I titled this post "Choosing Thankfulness" and that may seem a tad odd to you sweet girls but I am sure you will soon find out that as you grow, it is very easy to get bogged down in the daily routine so much that you overlook the blessings.  It is a choice to be thankful for the small things that occur daily that can seem so aggravating at that very moment.  But when you sit down to a holiday dinner like Thanksgiving, it is super easy to see the big blessings.  Choosing to be thankful then is not hard one bit.  My prayer for each of you is that you will make the conscious moment by moment choice to be thankful for everything that passes through your life, even the tough things.  Because we know that God promises all things to work together for good, even those things He may use as discipline to bring about a heart that draws nearer to Him.  Although, unpleasant at the time, it is always a blessing to be molded and shaped more like the image of Christ.  I heard someone say that although the days may seem long, the years go by way too fast.  That, my dear angels, is SO true!  How can it be that my first baby girl, is 9 on Thanksgiving day 2012?

I can only imagine how much those sweet hands and heart in prayer pleases our Father, because it surely is a precious sight to me!

School breaks are what keep us going.  We recharge our souls~sleeping late, wearing pjs way to long, crafting, playing and just being wherever we want to be with out a schedule...LOVE!
For a perfect example of school breaks, just check out that precious 4 yr old wearing mismatched pjs, dress up jewelry, fairy wings, her favorite headband and playing soccer! (oh, and unbrushed hair:-)

Someone had a "lucky" bday!  $500 winnings on a thanksgiving birthday is a very big blessing for a 9 yr. old!

I love the new room Mimi made for the girls on the main level.  Adelynn calls it her room only since her crib used to be in there but it is a perfect place for reading with Granddaddy, playing dolls and tea parties.

The Thankful Tree
--I love how you all all 9 and under--

For the promises in His word like this, I will always be thankful~~

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends.  His mercies never cease.  Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning."  Lamentations 3:22-23  NLT
