Our family has more than a few Holiday Traditions we enjoy but two of the girls favorites are our Elf of the Shelf (Anna Grace, you named him Lidious last Christmas) and the Advent Tree Grammy made you this year. You both love to jump out of bed each morning to find where Lidious has decided to sit each day to watch you so he can report to Santa each night. However, Daddy felt a little conviction over making sure our holiday traditions remember the true reason for Christmas. Mommy was struggling with this a little because the world just kept telling me, "but they are children and it is a magical time and they should relish it while they still can." Then, God spoke to me through a Christmas Brunch I went to at Mimi's church. The speaker addressed how important it was begin traditions with your family so your children would know the true meaning of Christmas. She encouraged us to stress the birth of our Savior while still including the magic and bliss the season brings to our children. So, we decided that Lidious would help us teach the story of Christmas to you girls throughout the season. He brings with him a special note each morning sharing with you a little message about Christ and why we do certain things at Christmas time...why do we have a tree, a wreath, the poinsettas, The colors of the candy cane, and some days he just wants you to have fun singing Happy Birthday to Jesus or making him a special birthday card. We love you all three more than you can ever imagine and we hope you will always remember the one who loves you so much that He sent His Son to Earth to save you from your sins!
